Mirjana Tabak Kovčo, affectionately known as Mira, was a legendary Croatian basketball player who tragically passed away at the age of 53 after a prolonged illness. As the captain of the Split basketball team, she led her squad to two national championships in 1993 and 1994. Throughout her illustrious career, she played for various clubs, including a stint in Germany, and returned to Croatia to contribute to several teams, amassing numerous trophies. A member of the Croatian national team, Mira played approximately 80 games, participated in the 1995 European Championship, and secured a gold medal at the Mediterranean Games in 1997. Recognized three times as the best Croatian female basketball player, her passing has deeply affected the sports community.
