Mirko Cano Gamero

Mirko Cano Gamero is a prominent Peruvian prosecutor and the national coordinator of the Fiscalías Especializadas en Extinción de Dominio, Lavado de Activos y Corrupción de Funcionarios. He has been instrumental in the recovery of over S/ 560 million for the state since the establishment of this specialized unit in 2019. His work focuses on legal actions aimed at retrieving assets linked to criminal activities, with significant achievements in cases related to drug trafficking, smuggling, and corruption. In 2024 alone, under his leadership, the unit achieved 555 founded sentences, significantly increasing the amount recovered from illicit assets.
