Mita Rakić

Mita Rakić was a German student and Serbian writer, politician, and economist, notable for his contributions to Serbian literature and culture. He is best remembered for his translation of Victor Hugo's 'Les Misérables,' which remained the only Serbian translation of the work until World War II. Rakić also played a significant role in documenting historical sites in Serbia, including his notable mention of Caričin grad in 1880, which sparked interest in archaeological research in the region.
