Mizik Mizik is a Haitian musical group that emerged in 1986 during the first 'Konkou Mizik' competition organized by American Airlines, where they gained significant recognition by finishing seventh out of 309 participants with their song 'Viv Ayiti'. The group is known for its vibrant compas style, which is a popular genre in Haiti, blending traditional Haitian rhythms with modern influences. Key member Fabrice Rouzier later pursued musical studies in the United States, exploring various genres such as cumbia, salsa, and reggae, which contributed to the group's unique sound. Mizik Mizik continues to be a prominent name in Haitian music, celebrated for their contributions to the cultural landscape of Haiti.
