Moataz Nasr

Moataz Nasr is an Egyptian artist and curator known for his innovative contributions to contemporary art, particularly in the context of the Mediterranean region. As the curator of the upcoming Alexandria Biennale, set to reopen in September 2026 after a twelve-year hiatus, he aims to revitalize Egypt's art scene by showcasing the work of 55 artists, primarily from the Mediterranean area. Nasr's work reflects a commitment to regional solidarity while incorporating a broader international perspective. He has previously represented Egypt at the Venice Biennale in 2017 and is dedicated to creating a dynamic dialogue between Alexandria's rich historical heritage and contemporary artistic challenges.
