Mohammad Karim Karimi is a 70-year-old villager from the Tal-e Almout region of Iran who recently survived a terrifying encounter with a hungry leopard. On a morning in late February, while checking on his sheep during lambing season, he was attacked by the leopard inside the stable. Despite sustaining severe injuries, he managed to play dead, which led to the leopard releasing him. After the incident, he was transported to a hospital in Qazvin and later transferred to Tehran for emergency surgery, where he underwent multiple procedures to treat his wounds. His remarkable survival story has drawn attention to the dangers posed by wildlife in rural areas.
