Mohammad Yaqoub

Mohammad Yaqoub is the Minister of Defense of the Taliban-led government in Afghanistan. He is the son of the late Taliban founder Mullah Mohammad Omar and has been a significant figure in the Taliban's military and political strategy since the group regained control of Afghanistan in August 2021. Yaqoub has been involved in discussions regarding security and defense issues, particularly in relation to Afghanistan's border with Pakistan, which has been a source of tension between the two countries.
