Mohammed Sheriff is the newly appointed Managing Director of the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC). He was selected for this pivotal role by President H.E. Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., following a thorough recruitment process led by the Minister of Mines and Energy. Sheriff brings a wealth of experience from his previous leadership position at the CLSG, a sub-regional electricity body that connects Cote d'Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea. His appointment comes at a critical juncture as Liberia seeks to reform its electricity sector, aiming to improve the availability, sustainability, and affordability of power for its citizens. During his recent visit to the Minister of Mines and Energy, Wilmot Paye, Sheriff expressed his commitment to tackling the ongoing challenges in the electricity sector and revitalizing the LEC.
