Mohammed Yasin Malik

Mohammed Yasin Malik is the current leader of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), a prominent political group that initially engaged in armed rebellion for an independent Kashmir. After his release from prison in 1994, Malik shifted the JKLF's focus towards peaceful negotiations and advocacy for Kashmiri self-determination. He has been a significant figure in the Kashmir conflict, representing the aspirations of many Kashmiris for autonomy and political rights. Recently, he has been in the news amid ongoing protests and unrest in the region following the death of Burhan Wani, a commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen.
