Moiz Abbas

Moiz Abbas was a Major in the Pakistan Army and a member of the Special Services Group (SSG), recognized for capturing Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman during the 2019 aerial conflict between India and Pakistan. He was posthumously honored for his bravery after being killed in an ambush by Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) fighters in Waziristan, along with several other security personnel. Abbas was celebrated for his leadership and valor, with high-ranking officials, including the Pakistan Army chief and the President, attending his funeral and praising his contributions to combating TTP operatives.
