Monique Chen

Monique Chen is the co-founder and chairwoman of Sustainable Travel Taiwan (STT), an NGO dedicated to promoting sustainable tourism practices in Taiwan. Chen has been a pioneering figure in the field, being the first individual in Taiwan to qualify as a trainer with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. She has voiced her concerns about the hotel industry's sustainability efforts and advocates for comprehensive certification systems that encompass environmental, community, and labor rights, aiming to drive genuine change in the tourism sector.
