Monna Tandberg

Monna Tandberg was a celebrated Norwegian actress, renowned for her exceptional interpretations of Henrik Ibsen's iconic female roles, including Hedda in 'Hedda Gabler' and Nora in 'A Doll's House'. Born on July 2, 1939, she made her stage debut at the National Theatre in 1960 and continued to be a prominent figure in Norwegian theatre until her retirement in 2009. Tandberg was also recognized for her role as Queen Fjellrose in the beloved TV series 'Jul i Blåfjell'. She received several accolades throughout her career, including being appointed a Knight of the Order of St. Olav in 2007. Her passing on May 25, 2025, at the age of 85, marks a significant loss for the Norwegian arts community.
