Mordehaj Vanunu is a former Israeli nuclear technician who gained international notoriety in 1986 when he revealed details about Israel's nuclear weapons program to the British press, leading to his arrest and imprisonment for treason. After serving 18 years in prison, he became a symbol of the struggle for nuclear transparency and disarmament.
