His conviction stems from a violent incident involving his partner, which prosecutors allege was fueled by jealousy after he discovered suggestive messages on her phone. Fa’alogo's defense claimed that masked intruders were responsible for the assault, but this assertion was dismissed by the court as implausible. The High Court upheld his original sentence of six years and two months, citing strong circumstantial evidence against him, including threatening communications he sent to his partner's ex.
