Mouhsine Serrar is a Moroccan engineer and social entrepreneur who founded the non-profit organization Prakti in 2008. Growing up in a modest family, he was inspired by his father's encouragement to pursue education, leading him to obtain a master's degree in mechanical engineering. After working for major companies like Boeing and Motorola in San Francisco, Serrar sought to make a positive impact on society. His travels to Nepal revealed the challenges faced by families cooking with traditional open-fire systems, which are harmful to health and the environment. In response, he developed clean, economical cooking stoves tailored to local traditions, significantly reducing cooking time and fuel consumption for impoverished households across various countries. His innovations have improved the lives of many, particularly women in developing nations.
