Moussa Dadis Camara is a former military officer and the head of the Guinean junta who ruled Guinea from 2008 to 2010. He is notorious for his role in the violent repression of opposition protests, particularly the massacre on September 28, 2009, where over 150 people were killed. In August 2024, he was sentenced to twenty years in prison for crimes against humanity in relation to this tragic event. Recently, he was granted a presidential pardon for health reasons by the current junta leader, General Mamadi Doumbouya.
