Mubera Muhović

Mubera Muhović, aged 40, is a Serbian woman who has gained notoriety for being the only woman in Serbia to receive a prison sentence of 40 years for her involvement in a brutal murder. Alongside her husband, she was convicted of the murder of Anel Papić in 2017, where they inflicted severe injuries before attempting to destroy evidence by burning the body. Her case marks a significant point in the Serbian legal system, being the highest prison sentence for a woman since the abolition of the death penalty in the early 2000s.
