Muhammad Hamdán Dagalo
Muhammad Hamdán Dagalo, often referred to as Hemedti, is a Sudanese military leader and the commander of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a powerful paramilitary group. He played a significant role in the Sudanese military coup of 2021 alongside General Abdal Fattáh Burhán, but their alliance later fractured over power-sharing disagreements. Since the outbreak of civil war in April 2023, Dagalo's RSF has engaged in intense conflict with the Sudanese army, leading to widespread humanitarian crises in the country. His forces have maintained control over critical areas, including parts of Khartoum and Darfur, despite recent military setbacks, including the loss of the presidential palace in Khartoum.
