Muhammad Shahrul Ikram Yaakob

Tan Sri Muhammad Shahrul Ikram Yaakob is a distinguished Malaysian diplomat and public servant, who has recently been appointed as Malaysia's Ambassador to the United States. Born in Pahang, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology from the University of Malaya and has completed an Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He began his career in the Malaysian public service in 1988 as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he has held various significant positions, including Secretary-General of the Ministry and Ambassador to Qatar and Austria. His extensive experience in international relations includes serving as Malaysia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York and playing key roles in ASEAN leadership.
