Muhammed Ali Recai was an Iranian politician who served as the President of Iran for a brief period in the early 1980s, during a tumultuous time following the 1979 Iranian Revolution. He was a close ally of Ayatollah Khomeini and was known for his commitment to the revolutionary ideals of the new Islamic Republic. Recai's presidency was marked by political instability and he was assassinated in a bombing in 1981, shortly after he took office.
