Mumbi Tindyebwa Otu

Mumbi Tindyebwa Otu is an accomplished artistic director and theatre professional originally from Victoria, Canada. Known for her dedication to amplifying the voices of Black artists, Otu has made significant contributions to the Canadian theatre scene. She is currently the artistic director of Obsidian Theatre, where she focuses on creating impactful narratives that reflect the experiences of marginalized communities. With a passion for storytelling, Otu's recent work includes directing the Canadian premiere of 'Flex', a play celebrating the lives of Black female athletes in the 1990s.
