Mundhir Ibrahim Hussein is an esteemed Iraqi jurist born in Baghdad in 1963. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Baghdad in 1989 and graduated from the Judicial Institute in 1998. With a robust judicial career, he has held several significant positions, including his current role as the Deputy President of the Federal Court of Cassation since 2018. He is also a reserve member of the Federal Supreme Court. Recently, he was nominated to succeed the retiring Chief Justice Jasim Muhammad Aboud due to health reasons, and his appointment is pending the issuance of a presidential decree.
