Mustafa Gerima

Mustafa Gerima, affectionately known as 'Mr Shea', is a dedicated environmentalist and former biology teacher in Uganda who is on a mission to save the shea nut trees, a vital resource for local communities. With a deep concern for the environmental degradation caused by the illegal harvesting of these trees for charcoal, he has taken it upon himself to educate villagers about the economic and ecological value of shea nuts. His commitment to tree conservation includes extensive community engagement, highlighted by a remarkable 644-kilometer walk from Kampala to Nairobi to raise awareness about the issue.
