Muzlum Abdi is the commander-in-chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a coalition of Kurdish and Arab fighters that has played a critical role in the fight against ISIS in Syria. Under his leadership, the SDF has gained significant territorial control in northern and eastern Syria, establishing a semi-autonomous administration.
