Myuran Sukumaran

Myuran Sukumaran was an Australian drug smuggler who garnered international attention as one of the ringleaders of the Bali Nine, a group arrested in 2005 for attempting to smuggle heroin from Indonesia to Australia. After a lengthy legal battle, Sukumaran was sentenced to death by firing squad, a sentence that sparked widespread protests and calls for clemency both in Australia and abroad.
