Nađa Komaneči is a renowned Romanian gymnast, born on November 12, 1961, in Onești, Romania. She gained international fame at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, where she became the first gymnast to achieve a perfect 10.0, winning three gold medals and becoming a symbol of excellence in the sport. Despite facing immense pressure and challenges throughout her career, including a tumultuous life under the communist regime, she eventually escaped to the United States and found success both as a coach and in her personal life. She married fellow gymnast Bart Koner, who converted to Orthodox Christianity for their marriage.
