Naana Jumah

Dr. Naana Jumah is a Harvard-educated obstetrician-gynecologist based in Thunder Bay, Ontario, who dedicates her practice to providing compassionate care for Indigenous patients traveling long distances to access maternity services. Having immigrated from Ghana at the age of six, Dr. Jumah has a personal understanding of the challenges faced by her patients, often leaving their communities around 36 weeks pregnant to give birth far from home. She emphasizes the importance of dignity in childbirth and advocates for improved maternity care in rural and remote areas.
