
Nadeeka Wataliyadda
Nadeeka Wataliyadda has recently made headlines as she assumed the role of the new Commissioner General of Labour in Sri Lanka. A distinguished academic, she holds a degree in Geography from the University of Peradeniya and has pursued advanced studies in Labour Studies at the University of Colombo, Women's Studies at Flinders University in Australia, and Business Management from the University of South Wales in the UK. Joining the public service in 2001 as a Labour Officer, she has held various significant positions, including Deputy Commissioner at the Department of Immigration and Emigration, Director General of the National Labour Studies Institute, and Director General of the Sri Lanka Tourism and Hotel Management Institute. Nadeeka is notable for being the third woman to hold the position of Commissioner General of Labour in the department's history.
