
Naizihijwa Majani
Dr. Naizihijwa Majani is Tanzania's first female paediatric cardiologist and the Director of Clinical Audit and Quality Assurance at the Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI). She has been instrumental in establishing the Paediatric Cardiac Programme in Tanzania, providing critical care to children with heart diseases who previously had limited treatment options. Her career began with a clinical internship at Bugando Medical Centre, followed by a postgraduate programme in Paediatric Cardiology in Israel. Dr. Majani is dedicated to bridging the healthcare gap for Tanzanian children and actively mentors young women in healthcare, emphasizing the importance of representation and leadership.
