Nashi Urbieta Méndez

Nashi Urbieta Méndez is a music educator who returned to her hometown of Guelacé, Oaxaca, during the COVID-19 pandemic. She founded the children's chamber orchestra and choir, Biin ni Cayun Guiaa, which translates to 'Seeds that Blossom.' Through her efforts, she has helped over 25 children learn music while also promoting the preservation of the Zapotec language through songs.
