Natalia Afanasyeva

Natalia Afanasyeva is recognized for her role in the adaptation of the design of the Minsk Planetarium, which opened its doors in 1965. Although often credited as the author, her contributions were more focused on tailoring the typical Soviet project to fit local conditions, rather than creating the original concept. The Minsk Planetarium, built under a standardized design from the Moscow design institute 'Giproteatr,' became a significant center for popularizing astronomy and science in Belarus.
