Nayden Vylchev
Nayden Vylchev was a prominent Bulgarian poet, journalist, and translator, born on August 30, 1927. He graduated from Sofia University with a degree in law in 1951 but soon turned to journalism, editing military publications and leading various literary magazines such as 'Septemvri' and 'Suvremenik.' His literary career began in his school years, culminating in the publication of around twenty poetry collections and children's literature under the pseudonym 'Chik Chirik.' Vylchev was also known for his translations of works by Slavic poets, particularly those from Belarus, and served as the head of the Bulgarian Translators' Union in the late 1980s. He passed away recently, marking the end of a significant chapter in Bulgarian literature and cultural exchange.
