Nehayan Fancy

Nehayan Fancy is a historian specializing in Islamic medicine, currently affiliated with Exeter University. His research focuses on the historical narratives surrounding pandemics, including the Black Death, and how these narratives have influenced understandings of disease transmission over centuries. Recently, Fancy co-authored a study that critiques longstanding myths about the spread of the Black Death, revealing how a 14th-century poetic work by Ibn al-Wardi has misled historians about the epidemic's transmission routes across Asia and Europe.
