Nektarios Chrysoylakis

Dr. Nektarios Chrysoylakis is the head of research at the Institute of Computational Mathematics at the Foundation for Research and Technology in Crete. He is notably remembered for his firsthand experience during the devastating heatwave of 1987 in Athens, where he and his family were unprepared for the extreme temperatures that reached up to 44 degrees Celsius, leading to a tragic number of casualties.
