Neliana Tersigni was an esteemed Italian war correspondent and journalist, known for her extensive coverage of significant international events throughout her career. Born in Rome in 1945 and educated in Russian literature, she began her journalism career at Paese Sera, where she reported on post-Franco Spain, the Middle East, Russia, and North Africa. In 1987, she joined Rai as a war correspondent for Tg3, where she reported on pivotal moments such as the first Palestinian intifada and the Gulf War. Tersigni served as Rai's correspondent in Moscow and Berlin before heading the Cairo bureau from 2003 to 2010. Her impactful work earned her the national journalism award 'Antonio Russo' in 2006. She continued to contribute to major news outlets, including Sky TG24, until her recent passing at the age of 81.
