Nella Stewart

Nella Stewart is a prominent textile designer and educator in Jamaica, known for her expertise in the batik and Jadiré techniques. After a successful career managing the Project Management Office at The University of the West Indies, she transitioned into textile design, focusing on preserving and promoting Jamaican cultural heritage through her work. Stewart is a founding member of the Jadiré textile initiative, which aims to establish a sustainable cottage industry in Jamaica, and has played a significant role in various exhibitions that celebrate the art of textile design.
