Nelson Tapia

Nelson Tapia is a retired Chilean soccer player who gained prominence during his playing career primarily as a goalkeeper. Having played for various clubs, including Universidad de Chile and Colo-Colo, he also represented the Chilean national team. Tapia has been vocal about the dangers facing soccer players in Ecuador, particularly amid rising violence and match-fixing scandals linked to drug cartels. Following threats related to mafia involvement in soccer, he has left the country for his safety.
