Nguyễn Gia Trí

Nguyễn Gia Trí (1908-1993) was a prominent Vietnamese painter known for pioneering modern lacquer painting in Vietnam. He graduated from the Indochina School of Fine Arts in 1936 and became one of the leading figures in Vietnamese art, recognized for blending traditional Eastern cultural elements with Western painting techniques. His notable works include 'Le Trois Femmes,' which recently sold for over $2 million at a Christie's auction, highlighting his enduring legacy and the rising value of Vietnamese art on the international stage.
