He became a focal point in the news after he helped rescue approximately 20 people, including his wife and young son, who were trapped in a malfunctioning freight elevator. This incident highlighted the ongoing issues with safety and functionality of the building's elevators, which have been out of service since early March, forcing residents to rely on stairs for their daily commutes.
