Nguyễn Thanh Liêm, known by his stage name Thanh Tuấn, is a renowned Vietnamese cải lương artist born in Quảng Ngãi in 1948. With a career spanning over five decades, he has made significant contributions to the traditional Vietnamese theater, performing alongside legendary artists such as Lệ Thủy and Bạch Tuyết. His passion for cải lương began in childhood, inspired by the voices of famous singers on the radio. He joined the Bạch Liên Hoa troupe in 1965, gaining fame for his powerful performances in classic plays. In 2019, he was honored with the title of People's Artist (NSND) for his dedication to the craft. Recently, he made headlines after a serious heart condition led to him being treated at Chợ Rẫy Hospital, where he underwent advanced medical procedures and is now recovering.
