Niall Montgomery
Niall Montgomery (1915 – 1987) was an Irish architect, painter, sculptor, and literary critic, known for his influential work in both architecture and poetry. Despite his reluctance to publish, he became a respected figure in the literary world, contributing to The Irish Times under various pseudonyms. Montgomery’s poetry, which drew inspiration from jazz and the works of literary giants like James Joyce and Samuel Beckett, has been characterized by its unconventional style and complex themes. His posthumous collection of poems, 'Terminal 1', was finally published nearly 40 years after his death, bringing renewed attention to his unique voice and contributions to Irish literature.
