Nicola Balestra

Nicola Balestra was a beloved figure in San Marino, known as one of the 'angels crucified' of the Papa Giovanni XXIII Community. Despite facing severe challenges due to a significant cerebral condition and autism that rendered him unable to speak or walk, Nicola's life was transformed through the love and care of Maria Grazia Isaia, who became his foster mother at age six. Over the course of his 44 years, he inspired many, serving as a beacon of hope and healing for individuals struggling with their own issues, including mental health crises. His death on Ferragosto prompted an outpouring of grief from the Christian community, highlighting his profound impact on the lives of those around him.
