
Nicolae Cristescu
Nicolae Cristescu is a controversial businessman and former financier of the Rapid Bucharest football club. He has been implicated in serious criminal allegations, including the establishment of a criminal group and extortion, as investigated by DIICOT. Cristescu has held control over Piața 16 Februarie in Bucharest for nearly two decades despite his contract with the local government expiring over a year ago. He has refused to vacate the market and has taken legal action against the authorities attempting to reclaim the space.
