Nicolae Shepel

Nicolae Shepel, born in 1995, is a Moldovan citizen who gained notoriety for his involvement in a plot concerning the assassination of public figures and politicians in Ukraine. Previously convicted in Russia for drug trafficking in 2017, he was transferred to Moldova to serve his sentence and was granted a presidential pardon by President Maia Sandu in 2022. However, following new developments in the investigation into the assassination plots, Sandu revoked the pardon on February 19, 2023, leading to his arrest along with others in connection with the case.
