Nicolaos Spachidakis

Nicolaos Spachidakis is a retired Greek mariner known for his role in the dramatic rescue of Terry Duperrault Fassbender in 1961. As the second officer aboard the freighter Captain Theo, he was instrumental in spotting the young girl adrift in the Gulf Stream and coordinating her rescue after she had survived alone for days in the ocean.
