Nicolette Barrette

Nicolette Barrette is a 46-year-old acid attack survivor from Portmore, St. Catherine, whose life changed drastically after she suffered severe injuries from an attack in 2021. Despite enduring third-degree burns and losing her sight in one eye, Barrette has shown remarkable resilience and compassion by forgiving her attacker, Nicolene Gray. In an interview, she expressed a deep understanding of the importance of family, particularly the bond between a mother and her children. Barrette is now focused on her recovery, hoping to start a small business and return to a life of caring for the elderly, while also advocating against violence and sharing her story to raise awareness.
