Nigel John Dermot Neill

Sam Neill was a celebrated New Zealand actor, best known for his iconic role as Dr. Alan Grant in the Jurassic Park franchise. Born on September 14, 1947, in Omagh, Northern Ireland, he moved to New Zealand as a child, where he built a remarkable career spanning over five decades and more than 150 film and television productions. Neill gained prominence in the 1980s with films like My Brilliant Career and The Hunt for Red October, but his international fame surged in 1993 with Jurassic Park, directed by Steven Spielberg. His versatility allowed him to excel in various genres, including drama, action, and science fiction, with notable works such as Event Horizon, Dead Calm, and Peaky Blinders. Outside of acting, Sam Neill was passionate about winemaking and owned a vineyard in Central Otago, New Zealand. He passed away at the age of 78, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
