Nigora Jumayeva

Nigora Jumayeva is the deputy governor of the Qumqo‘rg‘on district in Surxondaryo region, Uzbekistan. She was recently in the news as one of eight officials penalized for allowing forced labor during the cotton harvesting season. An audio recording surfaced in which she instructed local women's groups to recruit laborers for cotton picking, leading to public discussions and scrutiny over labor practices in the region.
