Nikolaus II
Nicholas II was the last Emperor of Russia, reigning from 1894 until his abdication in 1917 during the Russian Revolution. His reign was marked by significant turmoil, including military defeats in World War I, widespread social unrest, and the rise of revolutionary movements. Nicholas's inability to adapt to the changing political landscape and his reliance on autocratic rule contributed to the fall of the Romanov dynasty. He and his family were executed by Bolsheviks in 1918, and he has since been canonized as a martyr by the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia.
