Nina Margaeva
Nina Margaeva was a Belarusian artist born in 1984, who graduated from the Belarusian State University of Culture in 2007 with a specialization in ceramics. She actively participated in art exhibitions and workshops from a young age and founded a children's art studio in Minsk. Following the political unrest in Belarus after the 2020 presidential elections, she faced pressure for signing an open letter against violence and election fraud, which forced her to flee to Poland in June 2022 with her son, Miron. Nina was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in January 2023, leading to a significant decline in her health and prompting a fundraising campaign for her medical care.
